Paul Nicholl’s expensive purchase REGENT'S STROLLwas far too keen on chasing debut in the Grade 2 John Francome at Newbury and had nothing to offer in the finish. However, he jumped very well on that occasion and offered something to work on.
He readily dispatched Jeriko Du Reponet on his next start, with a more polished, professional display and has easily the best hurdles form on offer here. He can continue progressing and should be able to add another chasing win to his CV against Califet En Vol who was a shade disappointing on chasing debut here.

DID I ASK YOU THAT boasts powerful connections and sees Paul Townend back in the saddle as he bids to gain compensation for a fall when travelling strongly at Punchestown in November, on his reappearance after a lengthy absence. Prior to that, he ran a very creditable third in a strong maiden hurdle at the same venue, form which appears to be the strongest on offer in this contest.He also finished just a neck behind Pour Les Filles on his bumper debut, a piece of form that reads particularly well given that rival’s subsequent fifth-place finish in the Aintree bumper, multiple placed efforts in decent company, and a victory at Downpatrick. A clearly talented individual, he looks well capable of going very close here.

FAITHFUL GUARDIAN - 20/1
This looks a very strong Listed bumper with several runners holding solid claims. However, these races often provide value, and it is not uncommon for a big-priced contender to get involved. At around 33/1, Alan King’s FAITHFUL GUARDIAN makes plenty of each-way appeal. He shaped well on debut at Ludlow, where he was the last off the bridle and did everything right except get past the winner. That run should bring him on significantly, he is likely to appreciate the ground, and he could easily outrun his odds.
